My 583 with 2.62:1 c gearbox and clutch put the 084 to shame. Look back through mini forum history.

I'm running a 503 rotax on a 12' allum hull that I built. In fact I built everything that's currently on it. I weigh 225 lbs, my boat weighs 520. That's 745 lbs! It will run 50! It has 3:1 gear box running a whirlwind prop! It's no speed demon or a rocket ship! But it's beyond fuel efficient and will run down the river just like the rest of them! It will move on dry ground but some of the sand over here in Oklahoma, blow sand or sugar sand it won't move! If I can only convince my dad to let me run his 583 it would be a beast!

I have seen a Motor that Yamaha is building for Snow mobiles that is a 4 cylinder four stroke that they are putting on Gyro copters and experimental Aircraft that produces 150 hp and it is in the 200 to 300 lb range and they are in the 3000 dollar range new from what my friend told me, that sounds like that could be a great small Airboat motor
