Hi! about seats - in such position weight center is maximally low and its convinient to steer a boat. aerodinamic is better and ride is more interesting. Im from eastern Europe-Latvia. 10 kW=14 HP
Ive modernized the boat a little and reached maximum speed 50 km h. There is a new video here
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OB-9LsRzWns
Information about boat is also here

And please do not hesitate to ask me in case of questions

Great little ride! Looks like it runs good. I would definitely put a prop guard back on it. That’s a little hairy.

It's actually easier to remember the inverse. 1 Hp = 0.746 kw. I just call it 3/4.
3/4 kW = 1 Hp.
I remember that a 3 kw Generator needs a motor bigger than 4 Hp and somehow that makes sense to me. We all gotta get by.

Thanks for your comment! That day I decided to check the maximum speed, so I removed the protection. It creates an extra speed. in other trips I put protection. safety above all.

742 Watts = 1 HP so divide 10,000 by 742. Thats 13.47 HP

We use the old Cadillac 500 engines. Back in the 1970's there were a few crop duster planes retro-fitted to use the Cadillac engine.
Imagine putting one of them on a little bigger step type hull in that configuration!
Enjoy your build and always think one step ahead of the next problem!

Watching you fab up the internal supports had me thinking about the British Mosquito fighter from WWII it was a wood framed aircraft and one of the top night fighters. I'm thinking this kid can build a plane...LOL

I

my butt off watching that video, what a riot. Nice production, more exhaust tone, less music next time please. You got some cool projects going on, but the latest one is starting to get real, I like the sound of that bigger engine, she seems to jump, please provide some details.

That Ekranoplan looks roughly like a step with the prop pulling, should be easy to keep on the step too. Steering is gonna be interesting until the thing gets to "Ramming" speed.
Rock on Speedkings
