Roho's Idea

Post by stan » Wed Aug 20, 2008 10:28 pm

Haven't ran this by George yet, Can't say that it would even be posible .The other day in the run Roho came up with the idea of a true ride boat class and here it is.
1.Empty all gas from the fuel tank and add 5 gallons of certified 93 octane
back in.Just to keep things straight up
2 each boat must carry driver and three passengers (adults only)helments and life presevers worn by all.Dogs are optional and must ride on the bow
3 48 quart cooler 16 LBS of ice and a twelve pack of sodies no alcohol
Me i thought it would make for a great race.Ya rekon it would be entertaining or be like watching paint dry?

Now wait one minute my Dixie Thunder will run a eye opening 64 mph with 5 people, 47 gal gas & 12 pack. 8) You forgot the frog chute, rod holders, intercom, stereo, bimini top, folding chairs, grill, beach umbrella, beach towels, sunblock, bug spray & cell phone :D

Seriously, no offense but I would rather see fast boats when I go to a race.

This idea sounds like fun for a jamboree or BBQ but when I pay 10 bucks to watch and the racers are paying 100 plus 25 membership.........

That would be called the "Jed Clampent" class, wouldn't it? Heck, half the boats that go in the run would qualify (if you took the alcohol off the boat)!

Ha! I wondered if you were ever going to respond.

Are you going to the river this weekend? We'll be up this evening.

Why doesn’t Mr. Roho ever speak for himself? Maybe you should encourage him to become a member. Just a thought.

Personally,I think roho`s boat should be in modified hunt boat, not spectator or beginner  But hey,if he likes beating up the lil guy`s and holding the sport back more power to him

roho is a member, see a lot of crying about race, this has been a big issue every since nara was inc. years ago, if everone would work together and make nara work we could have some good times and fun. George is doing everything possible to make everyone happy and find place to race legal with insurance and permits. roho ran class they put him in just like everyone else, yes their were a couple boats that were not where they belong, first race some mistakes better next time good luck. roho is southern airboat member also april 1 2008

My post had nothing to do with NARA,it was more to the effect that he knows where his boat should be. I think George is doing a helluva job, first race was good I was told, couldn`t make do to personal problems. I plan to join and race the spectator class, but mite have to just watch this time do to my motor aint together yet.No crying here just statin it as I see it,this kinda stuff destroyed NARA once and will do it again

Ditto on the watching paint dry. BRING ON THE SPEED!!!

Maybe someday in the future, as a warm-up for the main event. Like an opening act.
I'll hit the concession stand during those races and get some popcorn.

But as it is now, bring on the speed!!!!!
