New Hamant/ WaterThunder DD boat
I talked to Wade today and was even impressed more by some of the new boats he is building. They guy just keeps finding new and better ways to improve his designs and boats. Well I cornered him and he agreed to build my new DD hull he came up with some insane ideas I know I have never seen done before I had 2 he had 4 or 5. So we are going to try some really cool an new ideas that may or may not work we really have no way to know until we try it.
So this time I'm building a welded, flat none step bottom aluminum boat. What could possibly be slower???????????????????????
I'm doing everything in my power to prevent anyone from having an excuse why a DD runs good.
I'm going to enjoy building this boat more then any unlimited boat I ever built.

Re: New Hammit/ WaterThunder DD boat

Re: New Hammit/ WaterThunder DD boat
I was cracking on Dave for the spelling of his title.
Re: New Hammit/ WaterThunder DD boat
How bout you put it on a standard run of the mill flat bottom all 1/8 " ride boat that any one could purchase instead of a custom tricked out flat bottom and show people it will perform, then you'll prove your point, from what I read it might as we'll be on a race boat because that's what your building, unless your trying to sell a new hull design for wade then I understand.

If you were really going to do "everything in your power to prevent anyone from having an excuse why a DD runs good" you would not start by putting the engine you want to demonstrate on a unique, one-off hull. That is quite literally guaranteeing that there is a built in excuse the for the results obtained, either way.
If it runs good, some people will credit the hull . . . and your engine efforts will not be rewarded.
If it does not run as hoped, some will credit your engine efforts . . . and your cause is again lost.
By using this scenario you are potentially guaranteeing your failure either way, which is shame given your abilities.
If it where me, and I wanted to showcase what a bad a$$ DD I could build, I would find a bad DD boat and put my engine on the same hull that anybody else could buy affordably.

Keeping that in mind, I would likely go get a 13' Big-O hull as that would meet both parameters.
However, I would probably not use white with any shade of green trim or rigging.

I guess hes posting this week just give it a little bit till tony gets on here then dave will complain people are being too mean and he will take his ball and go home again! its all BS nobody has been talking about his motors for the last couple days so he has to get on here and start a thread so people will remember him. hamant builds a great boat I got one for my pop with a straight valve 540 its a 13'6" x 7'6" with 22' sides and a 4 ft bow deck with poly. all heavy no light weight. build that hull again and put your dd on it and lets compare apples to apples!

I've always been a fan of Wade's work and you're motors have a reputation all their own. Sounds like a great combo and definitely a conversation piece.

Re: New Hammit/ WaterThunder DD boat
P Vento I'm building the boat I want to build and I don't really care what you think. See I have realized what ever you do people will make excuses or say something like you just did. I'm building this boat to challenge myself and to try something new. Who knows if we can even get it right the 1st time or the 2nd. I wasn't going to build another DD until I sold my old one. Now it's sold and gone I will can start on my next one. The 1st one was a learning curve and was the 1st DD LS I ever built, I'm sure the 2nd one will be nowhere near as slow.
