It stinks that happened that pass was the fastest official ET pass ever. It was the 1st pass in the 3's during competition. Whats even crazier it Sounds like there wasn't enough pitch in the prop that thing is banging the rev limiter all the way down the track you can hear it plain as day in the video.

Yes,,,,, because he is left before the tree even started, He red lighted real bad. If you watch the tree brad gets the win light as soon as the tree starts because Ron already left. Ron redlighted twice today and twice at the last race

I have a question. Once the boat starts to get airborne sorta sideways did it just come back down due to good luck or did he do something to make it happen? Not that I plan on ever doing anything to cause this to happen to me but I'd like to know if there is a way he specifically made this happen being an experienced racer.... Thanks

Spectators along the bank are the lucky ones. If this had happen sooner in the pass we may be looking at the video in a whole different way.

Now that was one wild ride, and I think the pucker factor maxed out for the driver, and the spectators on the ATV's. Glad everyone is OK.

I don't see how he was driving it u can see his foot is not on the gas at all after he hit the break and started his slide into the bank ,,, no wind from the prop on the rudders no steering right , I think he was just dang lucky ,, any way glad no one was hurt

That particular boat runs what's called a barrel valve for the mechanical fuel injection. Something in that setup stuck and the throttle was in turn stuck around probly 3-4000 rpms..... things could have been way way worse then they were.

Something went wrong and nobody knows what YET,,, it's all pure speculation!,,,, I went straight to the boat and checked the barrel valve 1st it was not stuck but that doesn't mean anything. Barrel valves can become an issue when there is a large increase in fuel pressure however once the engine quits running there is no-longer any pressure on a barrel valve so there is no way to tell if it stuck. You can say I have some experience over the years with barrel valves and high speed leanouts. Many Top Fuel teams have an emergency fuel system shut off for over pressure problems such as this. Right now I'm down to 3 scenarios by the end of the week we will have the data required to address the problem. I can say one thing our tune right now is way off on motor and nitrous. I had a dozen people tell me how wrong we are doing everything so at the next race expect both our motors to be substantially faster. I'm amazed we even got Chucks to run with all the problems we had it was a very intense 5 minutes of me Shawn and chuck completely changing the nitrous, fuel system, timing and wiring.

Of coarse the main priority is nobody was hurt.
