Bud's Camp Happenings

Postby desertgrl » Fri Jun 26, 2009 12:07 am

Hi from Arizona it Buds daughter Terri, I am heartbroken to let you all knowthat "namless individual" ransacked my dads camp, we gave the rights to Ted for keeping up the camp and dues etc. I guess "namless individual" was mad he cut pipes took everything out of it pots pans etc. none of Dads personal stuff was there he cut the gate and tried to tear it all up saying it took me and Bud 40yrs to build this so enjoy, signed "namless individual"...many people took part in the making of this camp including me and my family, I am seriously upset and so is Nancy (mom) that he would be so cruel to do this to Dads memory....just felt that someone should know what kind of person "namless individual" really is...cant believe someone like this is a member of the association..you all are such great people....this should really be investigated at least by the airboat association he is bad news..need more info on this John C and Ted have pictures....they are graciously going to restore it..lets not hurt Bud anymore....his memory will last forever..with all our heartfelt appreciation to all who have helped ...Terri and the Marquis Family...

I'm all ears, I want to hear about this as it progresses. Did "namless individual" tell someone that or was it just a note or how is it known he said.....It took.......40 years.....?

Before going non linear folks need some info to work with. Whomever does follow up on this, PLEASE KEEP US INFORMED!

If this is true, it needs to be dealt with privately.
If this is not true (or some misunderstanding) these comments need to be private.

I propose a moderator make a split two posts above and start a new thread in a less public area of this forum.

All due respect to the family, but a thread memorializing Bud's death is not the place for this news.

just my opinion.

Being as its Buds immediate family I have no problem with it as long as it stays focused, however if it becomes a thread of its own it may well be worth attempting the evil split. Split loses posts for me most of the time. I'll keep an eye on it for a bit.

Anything we have done for Bud and family has always been public, there may be some benefit from allowing this to stay there for now.

It is a dificult thing for me to see all this, because I am on everybody's side in this matter.
I think most folks around here know I am on Bullfrog's side. As much as anybody can be.
I am on Bud's Family's side.

I am on the nameless individual's side.
I edited your Post Terri, because it is not fair to make those statements.
It is possible that the individual did not cut all the plumbing pipes, but I do know he intended to remove the new water pump he had recenlty purchased.

The Nameless individual spoke with the authorities down there, who have jurisdiction over the camps, and asked what should be done with the installed materials he had put into the camp.
He was intructed to remove all his personl property and equipment from the camp.

This is what I was told he had done, and so far as I know, he did not ransack the camp.

Shortly after the water returned, he made a trip out there and then called me about it.
He asked me if I had gone by there on the 4 wheeler trip that we had recently made.
I told him that we in fact did visit there on our 4 wheelers.

He told me he thought that we had, because of the deep wheel ruts that were made in the trail.
I told him that we had made no ruts, as the conditions were very firm and dry. We had only smashed down the grass with our tires.

This led him to believe that someone else had come by at a later time than we had, when the conditions were getting wetter again. Perhaps this is so, as I have not been down there for nearly two months to see for myself.

He asked if we had gone into the bath house, and I told him no.
He said somebody crapped in the crapper, and left it in the bowl.
He said somebody cut a bunch of the plumbing pipes, and they had no water there to flush the toilet when he found it. He said he had to dip water outta the slough to clear the crapper. He told me that it may have been somebody scrounging for plumbing supplies down there, who may have cut all the pipes.

I told him that the place looked to be all in order, but I did not look at the water pump location, nor the plumbing pipes. The only thing out of place when we visited was a yellow flashlight on the floor, that looked like it had fallen off of the shelf. we left it where it was, and left the chain down as it was when we arrived also.

That is what I know if this incident, but I have yet to call JohnC about this.

I will call him this evening, cause I am on JohnC's side too.
I wish I had more time to make this particular post better than it is, but I am very busy right this moment. This is a very important post to me, so I oppolgize to everybody in advance for not doing it better.

Thanks

Good Job Cowboy.
Um... that nameless individual is still currently named in Whitebear's post. Better get that one too. ;)

Am I happy now? That's a loaded question but I'll take it on in public since it was first offered here.
Not really, but it's good enough. Peace is peace, and I really don't see what the recent posts of this thread have to do with the first somber post quoted above. They all should go including this one.

Bud's daughter can post wherever she wants, I'm guessing since she does not post here a lot, she does not know all the finer nuance of manners. And I don't hold that against her in the slightest. :) That's why I asked for a moderator to split this thread and make a new thread with this new concern and charge against the un-named person.

I'm like Cowboy in that I'm on all sides of all involved. I'd like to see it all handled quietly and peacefully anywhere but here in this thread. But he seems to have found a different way to handle it, and removing the names is a pretty good solution. Good enough anyway, unless someone wants to make something of it? I don't.

Sorry Bud. Rest in peace.

I see that while I was writing a reply to the other thread, it seems to have been the split I was asking for. So Whitebear or whoever did this, Thanks very much. :)

OK I got lucky and made it work, I mean "lucky" sure was no skill on my part that made it work. Its like the second split I have ever had work. Be that as it may, here it is....enjoy

Slow down a bit Matt, things take time............ Especially for me to do it. You now have it your way.

its good to have it split from buds thead about his passin. camps have been ransacked in the cypress many times desert girl has a right to her oppioin on the mater, but its a long way to arizona so second hand info a case dont make, the local glades runners will get to the bottom of this it want be fixed here. i took her thread to sawgrass board very few can see it but they are the ones that can straitin it out the best hope it works out. there is a code with the gladesmen and i dont belive a glades men would vandelize a camp imo :|

I understand that you want to protect this persons idenity but you must understand I have known this man since I was about 10 yrs old..he has changed, yes he left the note to us all and I spoke to him recently on the phone from arizona, he went to see my mom only to get the papers for the camp not concerned about her...he is very angry...you can beleive it or not but I dont talk crap about people for the fun of it..only I feel people should know how he is, you cannot belive what he says...he only cares about
himself....I am sorry if I did anything wrong on this site but didnt know where else to speak my peace..its very disturbing to us all.. and the entire camp was not his to destroy....my dad started the camp not him..
thanks for the feedback Terri

Terri, I don't think anyone was attacking you or even complaining about you. I know I sure wasn't. You don't post here a lot like some of us do, so you get a free pass when it comes to putting things in the right place. Absolutely no hard feelings there! :) In fact, thanks for bringing that here, and everything else was just an attempt to put the info where it belongs. So feel free to add new news if you hear it. At least get it passed along to JohnC or Cowboy etc.
