Camo Wraps for Airboat - Vinyl Graphics Kit

Postby neon » Wed Mar 24, 2010 9:01 am

I recently saw a completely camo'd up airboat just outside of Orlando at the Soggy Bottom preserve. He said it was a camo wrap kit and he got it from here www.camo4u.com - have any of you done this?

Try Liquid Camo.com they have done several Items for a friend and they all seem to come out real nice.

I cut Camoclad quite often and can do it for you if interested. If you want, I bring my whole shop to you so you don't have to tow your boat and leave it somewhere and then have to turn around and come pick it back up again. Or I can get the Camoclad for you at a better price than you can get it from Camo4u. I like to give the SA members a better than retail price on it. But I do installation as well.

Does this Camo Wrap/dipping hold up better on airboat? Everything I've seen it on looks like a$$ after a couple years, and is a pita to remove.

Never seen a boat "dipped" on purpose... LOL I have no idea how well it holds up, never had any of the dipped camo. The camo clad holds up a whole lot better than most regular vinyl, but seriously depends on how bad you beat up your boat... nothing will hold up to alot of abuse.

I am pretty hard on my boat when hunting, and am happy with my home done camo job, howerver I painted it last year when i got it, it was blue, and went over it again this year before duck season, it was pretty well scraped up but not a sign of my exterior latex (from Lowes mismatch color box) pealing off. I would consider having it wrapped if I was ready to sell it and wanted to get the most out of it. Also would be nice if Painter Chick would bring her mobile outfit to me, I would let her do a first class job as long as travel expenses were not charged    . Bud

Ya know I've thought about that more than once actually!!! If I can come up with a way to design it and get it printed so its durable, I'm in... because, other than some of the wetlands camo... they don't have a "southern" version of it...

Camo4u is the retail arm for CamoClad, which is a 3m product. I used both removable & permanent when I did my boat back in 3/09. GTO stocks it and I help put it on so it easy if I can do it, I am sure not a painter

The removable is much easier to work with and sticks very good. I had the rudder art cut out of the permanent kind. It has held up very well. The only thing it will not tolerate is gasoline, so on my deckover no spilling fuel and rubbing it takes the black off. But if you left it dry no harm no foul

Check out the truck kit it will do most boats sides if they are not to high sided & you can buy flat sheets to for big spots.
