vw starter

Post by dick2256 »

I dug my corvair airboat motor out of the mothballs after it had been setting for 15 plus years was starting it with no prop and only 3 bolts holding and I ruined the drive gear .
I see several vw starters on ebay but don't remember what kind of vw car it came out of.
I am using the 390 ford flywheel also need to know the bushing size that the starter end fits into it is wore pretty bad and should be replaced

Check some of the experimental aircraft forums, some of them guys seem to know quite a bit about those Corvairs!
