stainless rigging

Post by big3country8 » Mon Jun 18, 2012 8:54 pm

looking at having a stainless rigging built. Single rear driver bbc and a rotator with a pancake cage. Need a jack under the motor thats it no battery tray or anything fancy. Would like cage wire to strap on but if not thats ok too, deff want 4x4 wire. If some builders out there could send me some prices via pm i would greatly appreciate it. Hull is aluminum JB with 36" stringers.

I would recommend Dan the Airboat Man. His shop did a really nice job on my stainless rigging. Completed on time and an extremely great guy to work with.

Wolf will set it up right so it runs good unlike some of the other builders... He's on the river every weekend in something he's worked on running em like he stole em... That says something in my opinion.

How do you know you are going to get a quality rigging job or repair? Here are a few steps to improve your chances of a good out come.
Get several references from previous customers preferably not from relatives or close friends of the builder. Ask about time frame to completion. Never give a deposit until you get a signed agreement spelling out all the agreed to work. And a completion date. Any reputable shop will be happy to provide you with this assurance. You should also stipulate there will be a penalty in price for late delivery. Shiny work and low price does not always mean quality. The world is full of beautiful metal work that does not function as promised. Lots of well meaning customers have been down this road. Do your research before spending a dime. If two out of ten customers are happy with a shops work your chance of getting a good product for your money goes way down. The other down side of using a small shop is insurance and replacement cost if your rig is damaged or stolen. I have seen several examples of a job being promised at one price then suddenly double in price when it was delivered late. When was the last time you went to a car dealer and started changing all the options on a car for free. Any time you make changes in rigging it costs money . That cannot be done for free. The builder you pick may be a good old boy but if he is broke how he can replace your loss with no insurance or funding. Education is expensive. Its better to go where you get some sort of guarantee and a signed contract. There are lots of talented honest people in the air boat business also a few hacks posing as talent. Buyer beware.
The company of men who seek the truth is much prefered to those who think they have it
