Are you looking for a recommendation for yourself or just a debate? I think there a few key variables to how big and what design you use
for your cage wire? What kind of a cage you are using? Pancake, hybrid or full cage? What kind of riding do you do? Lake/canal riding, racing, hunting, trailblazing? Who will be around your boat? Are you gonna be riding with bigger groups? Carrying kids?

It would be helpful to know this info to give a good recommendation. IMO

I'm just about to start my cage. I'm going 4X4 for the most part with expanded metal on the lower outer section for protection when coming through the woods.

To me the larger wire looks better & your prop gets more airflow but if your running in the trees an other stuff that's more that goes threw the prop.

you can get an idea off my cage wire from a back view what i did was round circles and the patter ranges from 4x4- 2x2 i laced the wire this time trying somthing different you cant tell by looking at it from a distance but it seems to be stronger .. that was an idea i had.. if you hand lay it use ss the steel wire as i used this time is a bitch to paint .. also if u use the roll wire use 12g

wouldent go no less then 2x3 and no bigger then 4x4 jmo

No comment on the cage but those rudders are massive. Do you think they work better than four footers and if so what are the pros and cons. If there is any.

Notice the rudder in the back with the hydrolics atached to it. Nevin designed this to use the air off the prop as a trim for the boat. Pretty neat :thumbleft: :thumbleft:
