Chunk of my poly came off

Post by floridabou3 » Fri Apr 26, 2013 8:15 pm

Chunk about 12 inches wide and 24 long. Came off of my 10ft grasshopper why me and the wife was riding lake George today scared the shit out of both of us. Just wondering about what it's going to cost to get some new poly on thanks

Being that small of a hull should not cost very much. You can always patch that area but you will have unnessary holes in the boat. Might be best to just replace it!

Last time I was there my buddy hit a piece of 12" x 12" piece of concrete that had copper plate ( elevation survey?) about a 1/8 mile west of the pasture.

The river flows north. We ain't got shit for rain in lake county. It's high because we've had north winds. Get a south wind for a few days and it will flow out.

Farm, I noticed it says JB hull. Are you getting one built or did you buy it from somebody?

You haven't filled in your profile to include your location, so we don't know where you are.

You could call Keith at GTO, or PM him on here (Muffled500).
They are as far north as anybody I am aware of. That is if Lake George is semi local to you. :dontknow:

Round headed bolts. Coming up from the bottom with a flat washer and lock nut

Don't ever use round headed bolts on the bottom of the boat to repair anything. Whoever owned my boat before me made a repair using round headed bolt and the boat has a major anchor on the bottom where the round head bolts are. The repair is right under the middle of the boat in the center and it will spin like a top on dry ground but wont break free from the round head bolts dragging so bad.

10/4. I got the rigging off today and got the poly off. Think I'm gonna get the holes welded and go with frog spit. Why I got it all apart gonna paint the Metal works and hull.

Sorry man, that sucks!

I have some pieces of quarter red hot, and 3/8 quartz. I'm not sure i would trust a slick over poly but its you slide and something more than slick proof took a chunk unless it was a bad patch before hand.

You could use counter sunk bolts.
