Big O airboat hulls??? Any info

Post by Bayedup84 » Fri Mar 07, 2014 2:04 pm

Was wondering if anyone has any positive or negative reviews on a new 13' Big O hull. Cant beat the price for new one but are they cheap for a reason?

I've drove several of them and if I ever wanted a glass boat I would buy one. They handle very well in turns and in deep water. Defiantly a good all around hull....There's a couple guys I know that's had them for going on 14 years and still in great shape.

When they were being built by Mac in okeechobee ive owned 4 over 20 years and never had problems.
I dont have any exp. with the new ones being built in sebering, But i do know they are a lot cheeper now. That could be a bad thing or not. jmo.

I just recently bought one. I really like it, rides nice in the water and on the ground. I had them cut it down. Looks real sharp. Look in my pics and you'll see some pictures of the hull

Light, stable, controls well, mine is 12 years old and just got replaced after brutal abuse. Hit a stump so hard it busted my bottom and my rigging.

I'm not sure how old mine is, the only negative comment that I have about it is that the fiberglass (wall and top deck) of the bow storage is really thin; when I stand on it, it bows out and flexes alot more than I would like it to. I don't weigh that much, in my opinion it was just made too thin.
I've worked with a 12' apache hull and I liked it alot, it was really strong and not too heavy.

I'm running a 12 ft big o now. Like it a lot. Handles well. Needs some fiberglassing repair tho now that I have boat apart. For 1700 I was gonna pull the trigger. But for 2400 I'll just keep running the old big o I got and make repairs.

I don't think they are that cheap any more... They use to be around 2000 now I think they are up to about 2400
