These two guys are in charge of getting the axle saddle and fenders done, it should be ready to paint this week.

This guy here is in charge of of the main frame for the trailer. It is sitting on top of a trailer right now, we just picked it up from EK Machine in Fall River Wisconsin Troy Smith asked if he could do anything else for the project. The picture speaks for it self We dropped it off Tuesday morning and picked it up Wednesday morning.
Thanks EK Machine

Matt and Noah are welding up the fenders and then a couple of pictures of the trailers progress.

Light cages, I had some students TIG a pool all the way around to get rid of the sharp edges. I think they look nicer that way.

dblj006 Catwalk, as we get older we think of things like that. Back in the day I could walk on top of a two story high 2x4 wall but I think those days are gone.

Tonia, they did a pretty good job so far ( little trouble when they stretch the vinyl a little). We should be cutting the pieces out for the sides today, hopefully!!

That's a beautiful traier. Have you got plans for rear poly rollers to facillitate dry or very shallow loading?

Daddy Dave
We made up some brackets out of Stainless angle iron. They will be bolted on the back with 6" rollers that we are cutting out of a 12" roller , 2.5" dia. and a 5/8" shaft. We are making the shafts out of old broken drive shafts out of outboard lower units.

Well this week we got the engine put back on the engine stand. We had a full group to start with but in the second picture the bell rang. Eric stayed to finish up.

We started the vinyl wrap on the one side today, things went pretty good. Tyler the big guy sitting down is in charge of doing the vinyl. He is very meticulous!!!!

Couple pictures of the side finished up except a little trimming that needs to be done.

I love watching this Build, I have learned a lot watching it and reading about it, that is going to be a sweet boat and trailer combo when done.

those students are doing a great job. nice to see Students really get into a project like that.

How many hours a day do you have these students? I like the way you assign parts to achieve.

Tonia, the instructor gets very nervous letting students play with sticky vinyl.

Gary S. Most of the students are in class for 2 - 45min. periods and some of the students are in class for 1- 45min. period.
Some days by the time I get done explaining our next step there isn't a lot of time left. I spend a lot of time after school and nights testing things out to make sure we have a good plan of attack. This is a really good mix of students which really helps.

Oh there's no doubt in my mind about that Chuck! Heck, I still get nervous sometimes on an install or a paint job... It just comes with the territory unfortunately... The bigger the pice of vinyl the more my nerves are usually shot until it's done... Lol It's truly a wonder I'm not bald...

We have to send out a big THANK YOU to Jeff at Southern Slide. He donated a gallon of his Southern Slide so I had these two guys soak the poly with about a half gallon. The picture after we are getting the hull ready to flip over and start putting this boat back together.

Crank is back in, the back tie-downs are on and we slid the hull back on the trailer. We do not have all the rollers on the trailer yet, so we set a couple of pieces of poly on top of the trailer bed as a spacer for setting the other rollers.
