Man that boat is looking sweet! What are your plans for it once complete? Shouldn't be hard to sell that's for sure. Would be great for a raffle boat to.

They look great Chuck! I'm so glad I was able to help you and the kids out with your boat build, I've loved watching it come together and I know your kids HAVE to be getting excited about taking it out for a spin!

It was from Brian Collins from ANARCHY OFFROAD, Brian had sent me an E-Mail earlier and said he had put together a package for us. Thanks ANARCHY OFFROAD LED Lighting!!!!

Between Thursday and Friday we got a chance to get the rest of the rollers put on the trailer. Painterchic hooked us up with some hydro-turf Thanks Painterchic, so we took care of the deck and wired the new LEDS on the boat. The floor mounts were put in place and the floor and Hydro-turf were bolted down. I will have to get a picture of the floor next time. This project is really coming together!

My son Robbie and I went to school and picked up the airboat, drove over to the football field to test run the airboat. We thought we better take it out and run it before the kids at school do , just to make sure everything is working. There was about three inches of snow, sunny 10 mph winds and it was 17 degrees. The boat rolled right off the trailer, started right up so we let it warm-up for about 15 min and went for a ride. Here is a little clip of my son Robbie and I driving an airboat for the first time.
IT WAS GREAT!!!!!!!!

WE found that we forgot to weld the top of the bell crank down, job for tomorrow.

Thanks Blackwaterairboats I will pass the message on.
Here are a couple clips of students driving the airboat for the first time. The day went very well with each student getting a couple chances to drive. They did a great job and thanks to a lot of you on this site this has become one of our best learning experiences ever. These kids will remember this for the rest of their lives.

Justin
The engine ran great, you did an awesome job. Can we expect this boat to run dry when this snow melts or will we have to just wait and see?
One more question- Can we run 104 octane racing fuel instead of airplane fuel if it is cheaper? Just didn't know if there would be a down fall to racing fuel or not.

This was an awesome project. It was great to see kids getting involved with hands on experience that they can take into adulthood. Schools are too bogged down in meaningless academic processes and not enough life skills are being taught. Congratulations to the instructor and all the participants. Also, I think it was wonderful how the airboating community stepped up and donated their products and expertise. This was a great thread.

We are still working on the boat, right now we are trying to design an added seat that will have some added support underneath it. We have to make our collars for the exhaust pipes and I think we are going to have to take the bunks off the trailer. The back ends are pressed to tight against the boat. Here is another video clip from last week, he did a great job on his last round! Hope you like it.

Well we are still working on a few things. Here are a couple pictures one of the muffler clamps the kids bored out on the lathe.
The next two are pictures of the front seat mount.
