Panther 10' Fiberglass hulls?

Post by Steve hart » Tue Oct 07, 2014 7:13 pm

Does anyone know what kind of fiberglass hulls Panther us to use back in the 70's?
I am interested in a 10'-11' Fiberglass Hull, I want to put a Continental 0300 on it!
From what I understand they are called "Peanut Hulls" who can I call to get one?

They were called peanut hull. I think it was a knock off of a gore. Someone has the mold around here some where local in brevard last I heard.

I do know the old 12'x7' glass narrow nose hull they made was one of the best handling hulls on the marsh. I had several powered from 455 Buicks to O-320 and O-360s. Used a hull similar to theirs for our Buick engines and nobody was ever dissatisfied not even a little bit. I think they also made a 10'x6' hull. Maybe......

That square nose Panther is one of the nicest fiberglass hulls I've ever seen. I would love to own one some day.

This was my old boat. I was told that people called it a square nose panther?? Anyone that has any info about the hull, please share. It measured 10' 6" x 5'. It was a fun little boat.

The little square nose is the one I like. That big one is not as sexy to me.

That not the same one I'm talking about, it was a round nose. A lot of the racer back in the day love them.

Here's a picture of a round nose panther. They are narrow by today's standard but if you could drive, and keep from dipping the corner they were darn near unstoppable.

That looks like the kind of Panther I had back in the early 80's. Rode great but was a little heavy for a 150

Probably was a bit heavy for a 150, but a 12' with a 180 was just about perfect. An angle valve 0540 made that same 12' hull an absolute animal... As for who makes them now I'm not sure. Call up panther tomorrow and see if they'll lay one up for ya since they're obviously playing with resin from the pics above. Can't hurt to ask.
