Looking good! Where did you find 5'x12' sheets of 7075 or are you using a different material? I've been thinking about building a new boat as well. Keep up the good work

your right they don't make 7075 in 5x12 sheets, I'm using 6061-t6 for several different reasons. One reason is it's nice having just one seam, the seams take a lot of riveting.

Thank you Steve I've got quite a bit done on it but now it's back to work vacation is over

I enjoy following these build threads. Lots of work and I love the end results. You guys make it look easy. ;)

Thanks for the tip guy's :salute: ..worked on the boat yesterday and finished riveting the flat part of all the runners, also riveted the flat part of the transom on. Going to work on it some more today if anyone wants to come over.

When building a riveted boat, does anybody ever apply a sealant to prevent leaks or does the paint and bottom coat cover that duty?

Hey Greg I heard if everything is right a rivet won't leak. When hammered it pulls the metal together and the rivet will expand in the drilled hole, but for a little insurance we use scotchkote on all seams.
