200HP TKE Ecotech on DM Ultralite EVO 137 (13'6 x 7'6)
We've built a couple of these for Dragonfly but finally built one for a customer of ours locally and got to put it to a good test. I will say these little things are impressive in their own right. We run a mix of deep and skinny water on the river here in Kansas with some sticky mud and sandbars. Loaded down with 2 good size guys (both are 245+lbs) and 30 gal of fuel it averaged just under 5.5mpg on the first full test day. Motor never missed a beat and from monitoring the vitals, never flinched a bit. Oil pressure, water temp...barely budged no matter how much we threw at it.
Specifications:
Motor: 200hp TKE 2.4L N/A Ecotech
Drive: Ballistic 2.3 Direct-Fit
Prop: Sensenich 2-Blade 74" NGQ
Hull: DynaMarine EVO Ultralite (.125" Bottom)
Size: 13'6 x 7'6
Poly: 5/16" Riveted
Rigging: .065" Wall Stainless Steel
Fuel Capacity: 30gal
Lighting: Anarchy Offroad (2) 12" Lightbars and (2) Cube Lights
Seats: Buttraxx
Trailer: B&S Aluminum w/Roller Guides
For a relatively "budget boat", it sure surprised me!
Here's a few pics and videos for those that are interested, enjoy!

61.9 miles traveled, 12gal of gas burnt with a mix of skinny, deep and sandbar running. Not too shabby!

Shane, maybe it's just my old eyes but it sure looks like a 3 blade to me.

Re: 200HP TKE Ecotech on DM Ultralite EVO 137 (13'6 x 7'6)
Very Nice. That looks like a great boat that will get the job done for the average guy that just wants to get out there. Maybe shoot some ducks, do some camping, stick a few frogs, etc. And not break the bank doing it.
Good Job.
Good Job.

They started with a 3 blade but the 2 blade performed better

LOL we tried the 3-blade and it was barely on pitch mark 1 turning 4900rpm on the trailer so went with a 2-blade to get it deeper in the pitch mark and snap up better. 2-blade NGQ is perfect for this motor.Scarecrow wrote:Shane, maybe it's just my old eyes but it sure looks like a 3 blade to me.![]()

While "budget" is certainly different for each individual, I would say in the $20k-low $30k range for a NEW boat sitting on a trailer with actual cost depending on final configuration/options. I know there are plenty of people who want that new boat, but either can't afford the price tag on a brand new LS/CM boat in the $40k+ range or those that just can't justify spending that kind of coin on a boat they may only use x-number of times during hunting season and what not.Tony480 wrote:What do you consider budget boat?
I also understand that there is more than one way to skin a cat and you can get into a "budget boat" buy purchasing a takeout motor, doing the rewire yourself, used GB, used or existing prop, your hull or maybe a new/used one at a great price and building the metalworks yourself. That way will inevitably be a cheaper route. Then again some folks prefer a complete boat at a reasonable price that won't break the bank every weekend to ride.

Not bad for a little 4 banger. Hows the development of the turbo version ? Have they solved some of the turbo "lag" issues. To me, that still sounds like the hot ticket.
