Newbie Question

Post by Theehunt1 » Mon Dec 28, 2015 12:43 pm

I bought a Combee 16ft with Chev 350 power and got her running good. I know very little about airboats, living in the Communist Republic of California, they are very rare here. I saw many while living in Texas and always wanted one.

So here's the question what are these in the Pics? They are located near the stern under the prop. Small holes in the bottom of the boxes go through the hull, and notice the pipe with screen that goes through the box. ImageImageImage

Ccamp and John Fenner, that makes sense. The boat was originally owned by the State of California Department of Boating and Waterways Water Hyacinth Division. They must have been spraying with it.

THANKS FOR THE INFO!

The boxes are welded directly to the floor skin. Bunch of small holes through the bottom of the hull inside the box as seen in the photo. Outlets from the box would supply water the sprayer. I'm sure it's filtered as well.

Yes, those are pickup boxes for water to fill tanks for aquatic sprayers, I use them everyday and have the same setup in our company boats..
