Covering poly bolts in glass hull?

Post by CypressHunter » Sun Apr 30, 2017 8:35 am

I've been thinking about doing a complete overhull to my glass boat. I want poly. Only running steelflex now. The "BOSS" aka my wife does not want my to poly the bottom because does want my daughter or herself walking on bolts. I was trying to think of ways to cover the bolts. Either sea deck or some other form of padding. I even saw an old post on here were Twister buck riveted polymer on a glass hull. All input is appreciated

Rivet the poly on. Your daughter and wife will be able to walk barefoot in the boat with now worries. Before the bolting on poly got popular most boats had their poly riveted on. Works great.
Good luck

Any cover on bolts makes for difficult removal though poly should last a long time. I would insist that shoes be worn foe safety reasons.

I made a set of aluminum walk boards about 10" wide.
