A chop saw, Cut-off wheel on an angle grinder or bandsaw is what I've used.

I'm with Loudmouse on this one. No need making things more complicated.
A chop saw and angle grinder are far more versatile.
I could see a band saw helping the cause, but never needed one bad enough to acquire one.

Coolest thing I have seen to notch conduit was a press. It looked one of those beer can presses people use to smash aluminum cans to recycle. Only it had a sharpened solid steel concave tooth. He just marked the pipe, slid it in there and pulled the lever.... instant notched conduit of any size.

Wish I could find one of those. It is impressive.

I oval shape the ends of the tube to get a wider footprint to braze, eyeball the angle, trim it around and done.
I never finish anyth,,,.

I cut the pipe with a band saw then put the end of the pipe to the edge of the wheel on my bench grinder

Sorry folks, meant to say "notching conduit" with the snips. Yes Scarecrow, using them to notch conduit for better fit. What about Klein brand, they are respected in the electrical industry.

No pics.

He said his dad (who worked in a machine shop) made it. He then showed me how it worked. I am still impressed.
