Ch3 torque spec help?!

Post by GeeLeDouche »

I am in the middle of finding a clunking noise near
My flywheel. I got the prop and reduction off and found a massive crack in the century plate that mounts to the flex plate. Anywho. Taking off the plate was a PITA and I’m wondering what the torque of those 6 bolts should be? Can anyone help me with this please?

Thanks guys!

I read that too but I thought that couldn't be right considering it took 3 large men with 3 foot breaker bars just to break each bolt loose.

I initially got in here thinking my OEM flywheel had gone bad and was replacing it with a JW wheel. but after getting in I found nothing wrong with my flywheel but the green flex plate on the belt reduction itself is fractured badly all the way around the bolts. So, now I need to figure out if I want to replace the flywheel with the JW wheel even though there isn't anything wrong with it or return it and hopefully get my $$ back. I obviously need to get a replacement flexplate from Century now. I'm waiting on a call back from them as we speak.

Sounds like the bolts were seized up. Were they stainless? 35lbs is right don't over do it.

The jw wheels are way stronger and not a bad investment. Did the two plates fit with out bending?

Jw wheel for sure, install it. Money well spent.

as far as I could tell nothing was bending. there was spacers in between the flywheel and the flexplate when I removed the 6 outside bolts..

You guys think I should install the JW even though there is nothing wrong with my factory plate?

Absolutely install it. Your gambling if you install your old plate again.
Verify the spacers are correct. If not, they could be bending the drive plate causing your cracking issues.
