Rubber pads between rigging and deck

Post by Seven3 » Fri Dec 07, 2018 5:13 pm

What type of rubber are guys using to make the pads to separate the rigging from the boat deck? Last time I made a set I used some stuff from ACE Hardware and it didn't last. I'm thinking something like this? 1/8 thick neoprene rubber?

I used EPDM roofing for the isolation between my cage mounting to hull and seat stand to hull. It has held up well for eight years.

I just bolt it to the deck. Never had any problems. Deck has paint, rigging has paint. I haven't had any corrosion problems.I think if I did put something between them I would use some conveyor belt.

Sidewalls from an old tire
12' Cut Gilleo, Angle Valve 0-320, 72" Whisper Tip. Goes wherever I point it. :florida:
