im looking at buying or trading a bass boat for my first airboat alot of questions do i get slick bottom or polly or direct drive or gear reducing im really new to this also is airgator airboat good its aluminum hull any help or info i need

You questions would best be answered if You provided more information. Slick and poly / DD and gearbox are all excellent, one will be better in different applications. Depending on what you need it to do or what you plan you use it for. Alumitech builds a great boat. They have been around for a hot minute and are very customer friendly.

well ended up getting one over night its 2005 11ft predator with 4 cylinder lycoming 160 i was told mainly going to be me and wife and thats it so hopefully it good starter boat looking for a grass rake for it currently any info and tips greatly apprciated will be riding around citrus have a house on lil henderson

Should be good boat. Just remember running Citrus there is a 1100pm-0700am curfew.

Looks like a great little boat, should serve your purpose well. If your future plans are just riding with your wife, it may be all the boat you'll ever need. Would be a nice frogging boat also.

question what is grass rake really for would it be beneficial to have one

It lays the grass down instead of chopping it of and filling your hull, also helps going off of steep ground into water so you dont fill the boat with water if it is solid.

I agree with cracker ... looks like a great boat , ive had big ones small ones and inbetweeners ,and nowadays i like simple , i could've built just about any size i wanted but my new one im building right now is a little 11fter ....one day I'll get her finished lol

Again, that all depends on what you use it for. If you don't plan on running much dry ground, slick bottom is fine. The more dry you run, the more often you will have to reapply the slick bottom, and slick bottom does nothing to protect you hull. If you plan on running a lot of dry, or run an area that has a rough/rocky bottom, or just want the added protection for the hull, add a sheet of poly.

If your gonna be running citrus co , the boys around there will likely chime in i hope.... both bottoms have thier spot , i love slick, but i also sometimes need poly ,.. I used to have stainless wrap on my rock boat , it comes down to where you ride and how you treat her .... i have no experience in citrus county so i cant guide you on that one , im gonna make it down there one day soon i hope , but i think if you can get away without having to have poly i would stay with slick, i know its bad for business me saying that because i put a ton of poly on boats, but a little a/c boat like you got will run real free without it, not implying a sheet of poly will kill the way your boat rides , if done right you should only notice the difference in weight possibly
