Re: airboat polymer
I just replaced two sheets on a boat I purchased recently. Found UHMW in Dallas for $188 a sheet of 3/8 - 4x8. They have most any size, thickness, color needed. Didn't think it was too bad compaired to Classic's $350/sheet and $140 shipping.

Re: airboat polymer
just remember not all uhmw is the same so when comparing prices you gotta know what you are getting.
Re: airboat polymer
thanks for the help. I am still shopping and leaning toward superslide again.
Hey Jay this is my sons boat, i sold the yellow boat to a friend upstream and built him a super boat slide ramp.
When you get to where you can see poverty hill coming down stream he is on the right, check it out. best looking boat slide around.
I will be in the solid orange boat by spring, i have ordered an extra seat and steering cable to make it two up top.
This airboat flies up the poverty hill with power to spare, cant wait for spring when it is finished.
Thanks again for all of your help Dean

Re: airboat polymer
SWEET... I remember your son tellin' me about it... I can hardly wait to see the "new" rig & the new slide

Re: airboat polymer
Well changed my mind again after thinking how much I need to spend.
Ended up at Boedeker plastics in Shiner texas, ordered yesterday and put it in my truck today.
The new boat is 6 ft wide on the bottom and 16 ft long. Their uhmw comes in 8 ft any length so i got two 8x6x1/2 , two sheets and will turn them for 6x16 with only one seam. 396 per sheet plus a little freight.
Very fast and the poly looks great.
Now i need 1000 screws.

Re: airboat polymer
Dean, I finished up on my Fan Boat trailer modifications and just have one more project to finish up, that would be the boards on my 16' utility trailer and then we can clear out the dance floor for your rig.
When will your poly be in?
Panther may be your best bet on the screws if you have not already got them.

Re: airboat polymer
Great, I have the poly in the back of my pick up. It was delivered the next day after i called. I have my new seat, new bilge pump and new steer cable also[ the old cable has baling wire holding it together]. I might try to run some gas out tomorrow, still got too much gas. I still need screws and i want a new drop axle also. We just about have everything gathered. Me and Connie might have to dust off our dancing shoes, but we can be ready.
I am thinking mid January, What do you think?
Call me to see what metal I need for the seat stand.

I do appreciate your offers to help, except I have the A team lined up for this project. Top secret stuff, no just kidding. I am glad to have the offers as my son and I have put on poly by our selves before. Wasnt bad though just took awhile. Always great to have friends willing to help. Thanks for all the advice and offers to help. Looking forward to an airboat hoot-n-nanny shindig soon. Thanks Dean
