Wheee hooo...its a big Jon boat!

It's time for new poly so stay tuned as my BRAB brothers have told me they can knock this lil' job out in a few days " after DEER SEASON ' so I'll have time to knock out a few other things .
Looking to stroke the lil' ZZ4 to 383 and breath some new life into the SHO-NUF airboat, may redo the seat stand some, beat the dents out, new cage, reverse the rudders and give her some new paint .....in the next few months.
BRAB ! Check back for updates as I plan to keep track of the build right here.
Thanks Keeef for all the help !

My gawd there's a ton of nuts to take off...est 800+ is my guess.
Image
And here is ONE of the dents that’s gotta come out.
Image
All the poly nuts are off, I'm outta steam today so prolly next week I'll pull the poly. Gotta swing this baby up in the tree first.

I can hardly move from being bent over loosing all them 800 + poly nuts , no secret map but a bunch O dents and bent Tee bar. I have to get all the bolts under the midship brace and the tail lip of the transom , then I'll have em all ! Only another 60-80 left to go !
I think I ruined my air ratchet but that's ok I have more. Then I'll lift the boat off the trailer up in the tree out back and go to town with a screw gun, once the poly is off I'll show them Floriduh' folks what a bottom of a Brazo's river airboat looks like , I imagine its gonna look like a ole' fat girls butt -lumpy- ! ;)

Update 17 OCT 2010.
Got the boat off the trailer via my tree chain hoist and a few cold beers. Loaded it side ways on the trailer and up side down , started removing screws, about 1/3 of them are stuck , bent or the heads are beat . Got the side poly off , started the removing the bottom ones .
Had to make a drink and get cleaned up so I can cook some king salmon on the grill......so here's a few pics of today.
There's some fairly BIG dents in this hull , bent tee bars and broken welds...the Brazos river is full of rocks.

Sources say there was a redneck roll call on the river this weekend , sorry I missed it boys , I had work to do.
Cuz'n Eugene , I sure hope your overly optimistic when you see these pics, I'm getting closer. My plan is to hav ethe poly off , new poly in the boat , new hardware when I bring it down to stay at your place for awhile.
I'm not that smart so I gotta work twice as hard as the next guy and wear em' down with perserverance !

Man... airboat folks.. this ain't the time of the year to take a boat down.. dove season, one duck season under the belt and so on..... Grins... funny that non hunters have different calendars than others.

Love that strip of poly down the middle.. I may have to seriously think about that in the future... I bet that helped with dry running.

Knowin' my cheap ass prolly whatever is on sale....not decided just yet....we'll see.

Rost- I aint much of a hunter , but I do schedule repairs around deer season ..
I dont think I'll do the double strip of poly this time , I think it does help with dry running but also puts all the weight in a 18" spot too, right where my hump is in the hull...
I'll add horsepower then beat the dents out, thicker poly , new paint and call it done.....in a few months.
