Straw poll for Thunder on the Loop 2013

Postby kwowens1963 » Wed May 15, 2013 3:10 pm

Who all of the Texas (aka BRAB) crew planning to make the run in August to Nebraska for the Thunder on the Loop? I will be asking around at the memorial day run to see if we have any takers maybe we can talk about convoying, how cool would it be to have a line of Texas airboats heading north?

Wrench69 and I already have rooms booked in St. cloud or St paul Nebraska for Friday thru sunday night, he and I are planning to pull out of Huntsville area at midnite on that Thursday and drive it straight and arrive there sometime around noon or early afternoon on Friday, let me know your thoughts.

I was just talking about this with Quack yesterday. I'm going and gonna camp out on the river like I did the last time. It's out in the middle of nowhere. Make sure you have EVERYTHING you need ! It's best to leave Thursday evening and get there Friday to get a good spot though. I up for a convoy!

MAn I would love to go to this. Just my luck August starts me into a month long dog training season. I am mach 12 with my hair on fire the first Saturday in August through the last Sunday in August.

I was in Grand Island several years ago when the tornado hit. I photographed the looming clouds and we left not even knowing what happened until we got to South Dakota and we saw it on the news.

For those of you making the trip drive safe. I was at the race site yesterday and the river is up a litttle with the rains we have had. They are talking mid 80s during the day and 60s during the evening. It is going to be some be-a-utiful weather for the races this year. A group of us airboaters up here are planning on a river run somewhere on Friday. Either the Genoa headgates, Chaulk mines, or the Boelus dam.

Hope too see as many of you up here that can make it.
