Trinity Bay

Postby 21DiamondB » Mon Sep 23, 2013 10:59 am

Hunted Trinity bay yesterday. Seemed like the airboats were out in full force yesterday. Heard lots of them running around, and saw a few while running. Are most of them launching at the locks? I came out of Hugo Point and didn't see any over there. It was nice to be out there again.

I didn't think you could hunt north of the bridge. Is there alot of traffic over there? There definitely was on the south side.

On the wallisville project yes and I'm not sure I get out there pretty early so I don't see many boats but hear a few airboats in the area

yes you can hunt north of I-10 anywhere except in the dike around the oil field. Just have to watch out for all the permit blinds the wallisville project has a drawing every for spots to put up a blind. There is a post with a number on it next to the blind. Hunting is over at noon supposed to be out of habitat area with airboat by 1pm.(I dont know what they call the habitat area) I wouldnt worry game wardens have nothing to do with that its the park rangers which i've never seen north of I-10.

I'm permitted north an a buddy has a south blind, I'm guessing because they associate habitat with airboats in the rules it has to do with running trails and ground. I also have never seen a warden north but also have been told by a warden they keep off it for the most part but hunting rules apply which is hassle free until they check you at the launch! It's been good so far no permits stolen or blind messed with I'm hopeing it stays like that through the season,

Ronja, would you happen to know txteal and Crabtrap I see them cruising around every now and then, nice fellas

The wallisville project is on the south side also on the east side of old/lost river lake. I've seen pleanty of game wardens on the north side i grew up on old river my dad has the big shop where txteal and crabtrap live on lazy river ln. next to daisy lane. Never heard of any blinds being messed before.
