I saw that the river is at flood stage. Is this natural drainage or are they directing water in that direction?
Y'all are in our thoughts and prayers.

The Brazos originates like 800+ miles upstream from the Gulf of Mexico, so there are many dams and levies along the way. Don't know specifics of how many of what are having problems, but at least a couple have breached. They are describing this as an 800 or 1000 year event depending on the source. The news 4 days ago said that the Brazos was expected to possibly reach 52.2 feet, it is currently at 59 feet. The National Weather Service announced Tuesday afternoon that preliminary data indicates the all-time record for total rainfall from a tropical system in the continental U.S. was broken in Cedar Bayou, Texas -- about 30 miles from downtown Houston -- at 51.88 inches.
