ANGLE VALVE 0-200 HORSEPOWER?
WOULD ANY OF YALL KNOW THE APPROXIMATE HORSE POWER THAT AN O-200 ANGLE VALVE PRODUCES? AND HOW DO THEY PERFORM ON LIKE A 12-13'X7" GLASS BOAT WITH A 2 SEAT SET UP AND WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD PROP SETUP FOR ONE?WARP DRIVE,WOOD,2-3 BLADE COMPOSITE ??? JUST TRYING TO GATHER SOME INFO BECAUSE I'VE BEEN THINKING OF BUYING ONE OR BUILDING ONE BECAUSE MY GRANDFATHER HAD ONE AND THAT THING WAS A BEAST...AND WOULD ANONE KNOW WHAT PRICE RANGE THESE MOTORS GO FOR AND IF THEY'RE AS RELIABLE AS I THINK THEY ARE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THESE MOTORS?ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED...THANKS...~RONNIE~

Re: ANGLE VALVE 0-200 HORSEPOWER?
Do yo mean a angle valve 0-360 200 H.P.? The reason I ask is because you're talking about a 12'-13' hull. Kind of big...

I GUESS... IS THAT WHAT AN ANGLE VALVE IS CONSIDERED AN 0-360 ??? IF SO THEN YES THATS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT...I NEVER KNEW WHAT THE MOTOR SPEC WAS I JUST FIGURED 0-200...IF ITS AN 0-360 THAT I'M TALKING ABOUT ARE THEY DECENT MOTORS???

Re: ANGLE VALVE 0-200 HORSEPOWER?
THE REASON I ASKED IS BECAUSE MY GRAND FATHER SAID THE MOTOR HE HAD WAS AN ANGLE VALVE 200 LYCOMING AND HAD IT ON A 11X7 TAYLOR HULL WITH A WOOD PROP AND I REMEMBER THAT THING BEING A BEAST WHEN I USE TO RIDE WITH HIM WHEN I WAS YOUNGER...

Re: ANGLE VALVE 0-200 HORSEPOWER?
I'M REALLY JUST TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT MOTOR BE IT A 4-6 CYLINDER LYCOMING WOULD BE THE BEST PERFORMING ON A 12-13' GLASS BOAT AND WHAT MOTOR WOULD BE THE CHEAPEST,FUEL EFFICIENT AND HAVE PLENTY OF POWER TO PUSH 2-3 PEOPLE AND STILL BE CHEAP ON THE WALLET...AND WHAT PROP WOULD WORK THE BEST FOR IT ??? I WOULD EVEN DO GPU'S ARE 0-470'S GOOD MOTORS? SOMEONE TOLD ME THEY PRODUCE 220 HP IS THAT CORRECT?

Re: ANGLE VALVE 0-200 HORSEPOWER?
In my opinion, it's one of the best if not the best A/C engine you can run. Just keep it on the right size hull and don't load it down too much. I wouldn't go over 12'. If you want to feel an awesome boat, put it on a 10'-11' boat with your back against the mags. If someone wants to ride, put them on the foot stand. That engine will last forever on a light, little boat.

Re: ANGLE VALVE 0-200 HORSEPOWER?
Personally, I would put a six cylinder on a 12'-13' boat. You can get away with the 0360 but to me, you're wasting the engine on a hull that big...SWAMPCRACKER wrote:I'M REALLY JUST TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT MOTOR BE IT A 4-6 CYLINDER LYCOMING WOULD BE THE BEST PERFORMING ON A 12-13' GLASS BOAT AND WHAT MOTOR WOULD BE THE CHEAPEST,FUEL EFFICIENT AND HAVE PLENTY OF POWER TO PUSH 2-3 PEOPLE AND STILL BE CHEAP ON THE WALLET...AND WHAT PROP WOULD WORK THE BEST FOR IT ??? Nothing wrong with the 0470/220h.p. GPU's. Definitely a difference in price!

Re: ANGLE VALVE 0-200 HORSEPOWER?
YEA I HEARD THEY'RE GREAT MOTORS...SO BASICALLY GO WITH A 12' AND MAKE IT A REAR DRIVER, I WOULD HAVE TO MAKE IT A 2 SEATER FOR THE OL' LADY TO RIDE ON SO A FRONT PASSENGER REAR DRIVER...DO YOU HAVE ANY PROP SUGGESTIONS THAT WOULD WORK BEST FOR AN 0360 I WONDER HOW A 2 BLADE WHISPER TIP OR A 5 BLADE WARP DRIVE WOULD WORKOUT ON ONE...

Re: ANGLE VALVE 0-200 HORSEPOWER?
I'M JUST TRYING TO FIND THE CHEAPEST,EFFICIENT SETUP TO RUN THAT I WOULD ENJOY AND NOT HAVE TO WORK ON EVERYTIME I TAKE IT OUT...I DON'T NEED TO DO A 100 MPH BUT I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE SOME FUN AND THE POWER TO DO SO...MY STEPDAD HAD AN 0470 ON HIS 13X7 COTTONMOUTH WITH A 5 BLADE WARP DRIVE WITH A SINGLE REAR DRIVER AND DOUBLE FRONT PASSENGER AND IT WAS A PRETTY DESCENT RUNNING BOAT...I MAY JUST DO A SETUP LIKE THAT FOR MYSELF...I'M WANTING TO BUY A BOAT ASAP SINCE I DON'T HAVE ONE NOW AND I'M TIRED OF RIDING ON OTHER PEOPLES BOATS OR NOT BEING ABLE TO GO OUT AT ALL...AT ONE TIME I WAS THINKING ABOUT BUYING A DD 350 BOAT BUT I'VE HEARD TO MANY HORROR STORIES ABOUT THOSE SETUPS...I JUST WANT SOMETHING SIMPLE AND THATS RELIABLE

SwampCracker if you look in my pics at my boat it has a 0360 on it i had the motor on two 12' Aluimtech hulls it ran good on both of those and now i have it on a 11' 3/4 deck boat and it runs the hill awesome. The best thing about it is I can run all day and still come home with gas in the tank.

Re: ANGLE VALVE 0-200 HORSEPOWER?
THATS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT !!!
I WOULD LOVE TO RUN HARD ALL DAY WITH FUEL LEFT IN THE TANK WHEN I GET HOME... MY DECISION WILL BE BETWEEN BOTH THE 0-360 AND OR THE 0-470 ON LIKE A 12'X13'X7" COTTON MOUTH,RIVER MASTER,GILILEO,BANDIT HULL...WITH A 5 BLADE WARP DRIVE OR A 2 BLADE WHISPER TIP OR 2 BLADE WHIRL WIND...I LIKE GLASS BOATS BECAUSE THEY'RE GREAT IN ALL WATER DEPTHS THEY SLIDE GREAT AND IF I PUNCH A HOLE IN IT I CAN PATCH IT RITE UP DEPENDING ON HOW SEVERE IT IS..

Hey " HOGDOGGING " That new boat of yours did you happen to buy it from guy named Keith from Ft.Lauderdale, The hull looks exactly like my old one that i sold him...When i sold it to him it was a non painted aluminum hull on a bright orange trailer with black carpeted boards...Just wondering if thats the boat or not...

thats probly the best -bang for your buck all around setup you're gonna get(0-470/cotton mouth)
Re: ANGLE VALVE 0-200 HORSEPOWER?
I think for the money, a good GPU220 on a 12ft White hull would do everything you want. It would be one of your cheaper options.

Re: ANGLE VALVE 0-200 HORSEPOWER?
Ronnie, I ran a boat with a 200 for years. I first had it on a bill vaugh 10' full deck. Ran awesome. Then I got a 12' wilcox step boat(with the 200). That was by far the funnest/fastest little boat I ever owned! Wish I still had it but I can't tote the whole fam damily with that so I had to go to the dark side...

Re: ANGLE VALVE 0-200 HORSEPOWER?
Your right Bear. A O-200 is definately a 100 hp engine. Ronnie is talking about an O-360 for sure. He just explained it a little off. I have never seen an O-200 angle valve. If they make any cylinders like that I want 4 for my sons O-200 I have in the shed for his first boat!

Re: ANGLE VALVE 0-200 HORSEPOWER?
Hey Chester, what motor does your Dad run on his boat ? is it an 0-360? and is that what an angle valve is considered? Maybe you could help me but do you remember what motor my Grandfather " MIKE VOSTAL " Had on his boat? " RAT RACE REMEDIES " I'm starting to think it was an 0-360 but I may be wrong...I know an 0-360 would be to small for like a 12-13'x7 cotton mouth hull which is what i would want for my next boat...I was thinking of going with a c/m but i dont want to have to work on it all the time not saying they suck but I would lose my patience after a couple times of fixing them...So I'm just gonna go with a/c or gpu like an 0-470 and I think I would enjoy it a little more and maybe slap a 5 blade warp drive pitched out or a 2 blade whirl wind or whisper tip and see how it runs like that...

Re: ANGLE VALVE 0-200 HORSEPOWER?
0-360 200hp on a 12 ft Hammant hull would be super sweet. These hulls run so free in the water and run the hill great also. Around $3,500 for the hull, this price is my best guess! You wouldn't be disappointed!

i run a 200 angle valve on a 12" Gilileo. It goes anywhere i point it. Brand new hull is $2000.
Re: ANGLE VALVE 0-200 HORSEPOWER?
I'm plannin on puttin O-360 on a 11.5 predator for my next one. My O-320 on my boat goes anywhere. Before I get a O-360 Ima put my 320 on a pred.

chesters dads boat is a 0470 contential 220 horse but its an aircraft not gpu. and my dad had a 0360 180 hp on a 13 foot bandit hull and it ran just fine ran the dry and everything best thing we ever did to that boat was put a sensnich q series on it
injected angle valve 200 on an 11x7 diamondback with a 2 blade q series
