We enjoy a world today that is what it is BECAUSE of those who gave their lives on foreign soil. Our sons and daughters went to a foreign land and gave their lives for what we have today. It would not have been possible without that ultimate sacrifice. Many returned home as heros, many heros never came home.
And now, years later they call us arrogant?
I call it PRIDE.
I call it THANKS.
I was recently blessed with the opportunity to spend a whole day walking around Arlington Nat'l Cemetery. Yes it is on the pre-war estate of Robert E. Lee, but still, it's such a touching thing to see. Also, I've walked the local cemeteries in Orlando, Bartow, and Lakeland. Most city/town cemeteries have some who gave their lives for everyone's freedom, and I strongly urge everyone to pay a visit to them sometime in the near future. Look for the older white marble tomb stones. Look at the names and the dates. Do a little math. Say a little prayer of thanks. It's difficult to do without shedding a tear, Give it a try. You'll be glad you did.

Folks, like with Christmas celebrating the birth of Christ, PLEASE REMEMBER THE TRUE MEANING of Memorial Day.
matt.
