April 30, Last Grass Planting Needs Help!!!

Post by rost495 » Mon Apr 11, 2011 11:33 am

Our two dedicated local TAA folks are tied up that weekend as am I, while the other times I was short a vehicle, this time I just have something I can't get out of regardless.

We owe a HUGE debt of gratitude to Capt Steve and Capt Dana for having been at almost every last planting! Covering for us TAA folks and making us look great!

We need 2 decent size boats or 3 smaller ones.

This is the last go round but we have to dig deep here and get some folks that way to Corpus Christi on the 30th.

I have sent out a bulk email most of y'all have seen but anything else that can be done I'd appreciate. I hate to leave them hanging on the last planting.

Lets finish this up folks!!

And as I said in my email, the kids just love riding the airboats back and forth, you can't BUY anything more positive for the future. The kids will say... nah, nothing wrong with airboaters, we've been on them and had a blast!

Thanks, Jeff

I posted this under the prayer thread... but wanted to post it here too.... There are some truly dedicated boaters out there. Not only worried about what they are going to do or go ride or fish next, but truly dedicated to helping out a good cause and helping protect our future.

Lee just had surgery and he is the FIRST response I got from my mass email this morning volunteering his time and boat again assuming the doc says ok on the 27th.

I'm proud to have Lee as my fellow TAA Airboating Brother.

Jeff

Update.
Where did I get an update of ALL places? A reply to my plea for 30 April Grass Planting.

Lee says he feels better and the surgery was a success at this point. Has a Drs checkup on the 27th and if the green light is given, he'll be down to help with the grass planting!!

What a guy, my first reply to volunteer services for TAA representation and its from someone who just had surgery!!!

Continue to heal Lee!!

Jeff

Hey Mitch, long day of meetings here... I'll give you a call on Tuesday... btw one voice mail you left said memorial day, its APril 30 not May 30 just FYI.

Might be good to go with a small and large boat so far.

I'm beat and still need to shower and hit the hay, just walked in....

18 Panther

Got a call from John and he told me that you were taking 2 large 22' boats and that my services were no longer needed.. Talked to Lee Nickleson and he told me he was going to be their. So I backed out and made it a fishing outting with momma and the son... Passed over the bridge (*PORTLAND) looked like you had everything under control Saturday morning. Talked to Lee Nickleson and his trailer broke on there way from MC Allen.. You might of seen my boat in front of the Super 8 Motel a couple of days. Thanks for all you did Mitch

Dear 18 panther....... you're a good man! Nice job, way to jump in and all that blah, blah... LOL As I was reading your post, when you got to the part about "blew 30+" I was anticipating another kind of blew! Guess I'm the only casualty in the planting LOL As I sat at the track in Baytown this weekend watching the Pro Mods, I thought about you!!!!!! Why not a 850 inch motor on Nitrous or blown, or twin tubos? You need it Craig!!!!! Why hold yourself back with those silly little 600 inch boats? LOL

Hey, I never heard back from you on the small block head, whats the deal? They found a block and the one head they were looking for, so all is well, but let me know if you want to unload that late model motor.

All good.

I spoke to John after he talked to you Thursday. He said one of you was still coming,I just did'nt know which.Hence being worried about one not making it.

I put a couple of photos in the Gallery.I just have'nt figured out how to get them here.

sorry i missed u fellers, broke the main leaf on the left spring. lucky it was behide the axle and not the on the front. tire rubbed the hell on the side of the boat. put a 4#4 between the axle and bed of trailer and took it easy goin back to the barn. i replaced all the runnin gear last spring to keep this kinda crap from takin place!!!!!!!!!!!! the break looked as if it was a tear not a clean break and it was close to the axle not towards the back. glad all went well for everybody. roy did you catch any fish? :banghead:
