Airboat rigging

Post by mudbass » Sat Dec 07, 2013 11:09 pm

Just wanted to get some opinions on rigging. I want to get some built soon. What are some good manufactures near citrus county? I know I want to go with a front driver and rear passenger. I was thinking conduit which should be a little cheaper than stainless. Are there any other metal they make them out of? Looking for someone to set the rigging up right. I appreciate any advise Thanks :rebel:

William at PoorBoys Performance Airboats does an awesome job for a great price. Really nice work.I don't think you will find an Airboats shop build out of conduit though.

Thank you all for the references. How long should I expect my conduit rigging to last? It's better than your average conduit and I only run fresh water. I know with conduit you can get condensation inside the tubing and cause rust but how long have you guys got from some of your conduit riggings?

You would be better off going ss,one shot deal if you go with conduit by the time you have it powder coated your about at the cost of ss and that's the only way your gonna get conduit rigging to last any length of time,JMO.

What are some things you do to take care of it? I heard if you drill a small hole the size of a pencil lead at the bottom of your rigging any trapped water will drain out and the air is able to enter the inside of the pipe keeping it dry. I'm glad to hear you got a long time from your rigging, I just want to make mine last as long as I can. Thanks

Lil John did mine ,but have seen work by all mentioned and and all do great work. Stainless is the only way to go in Citrus County , besides the hours of labor are the same you only save on material cost.
