I don't believe you can buy a new one anymore. I haven't seen any for sale used ever. Good luck.

I believe they quit making them before WW moved to Florida.
If I remember correctly I think they were 2.3 ratio.
I think I've only ever seen two for sale used and that is over about 10 or 12 ?? years.
I would be curious to know how many of them they made.

As was pointed out . . . Plum would know.

They were designed by a gentleman by the name of David Wine. They are in my opinion the most sensible, practical, reliable prop reduction drives ever crafted for a GM small block, and they were available in 2-1 and 2.3-1 reduction. You might try to reach him at (863) 224-3193. If you do, tell him I said 'hello', OK? :thumbleft:

the price seems right. for less that twice the price of the drive, you get the whole boat.

10-4 man, the metal works on mine are pretty light and built recently, everything on that boat was built new. Just throwing that out there. Also have just about everything need.

Mr. Wine is an engineering genius, and as such often gets distracted by making something more complicated than it needs to be.
In my humble opinion there were only a couple of very small modifications needed to the original Blue Lightning that would make folks throw rocks at the gearboxes.
The last time I was at his home there was a new Lightning drive laying against the wall in his office. Ask him if he still has that one. :)
