Postby diamondback0320 » Wed Mar 28, 2018 6:05 pm

anyone use these..had to cut all mine off the cage wire to polish everything up..they seem to hold better than regular zip ties..? is do you have to have a special gun to use these? I see a lot of different brands online..any suggestions..thanks

I have a Band-It brand tool for 1/4" Tie-Loc 2 bands. has adjustable tension max is 250 lbs i believe. the tool is expensive as hell around $400 but got mine for $80 off eBay. bag of 100 SS ties runs 70-100 bucks too.Not cheap but worth it. I like the way it dimples the band and cuts it off with no shape edge, Ive had the ones with the ball in them slip.

Just out of curiosity were they self locking with a ball? I got mine that i had an issue with from ACE or TSC can't recall. even got a tension tool to use with a 1/4'' dive ratchet could get them just past snug and then they would slip. The ones I use now only problem I've had so far was snapping a few due to too high tension setting on the tool.

yes they r the ones that have the ball..hmm I tried using pliers etc and same thing..get em tight then they back off..& I figured I'd order the tensioning pliiers online in which I did but don't have them yet..so guess now that is probably gonna be a wrong move too lol..which ones are you using now?

It’s a Band-It, for Tie-Loc 2. Has adjustable tension. This one is for 1/4’’ ss ties. It don’t slip for nothin.

so I just got off the phone with a rep from cable ties and more.. you talk about being treated like an idiot..tried telling me that maybe I didn't know how to use them & maybe the gun was the problem..he said they thousands of these ties to the military and have never had any complaint..what douche bag!!
