Assume you are looking for a shop to do the work. I highly recommend Jurnigan Engines in Plant City. Steven Jurnigan is a wealth of knowledge and will take all the time needed to answer your questions completely, on the phone or in person. They are NOT the low price leader in the business but the prices are competitive and fair. They are usually stacked with work (says a lot there), so turn around can take a while. The quality and customer service is well worth it.

Address: 1003 Pleasant Acre Dr, Plant City, FL 33566

Are you presently running fuel injection or carb? The basic plan is fuel injection (that's what AV 540's are designed to run), 10:1 pistons and AV Gas.
I grew up thinking that I-10 was the Mason Dixon line.
1986 Airboat Engineering Inc., 14' Marsh Master. Refreshed narrow deck, SV O-540. A Bob Stossel original, still running strong.

Thanks SG I'm running a carb right now, was thinking about fuel injection and 10.1 pistons and the right cam?

Stay with carb, yes on 10:1 send cam and tappets to D&S in Tampa area, tell them what you want to do, they can add advance to the cam and adjust centerline to build torque #s
I never finish anyth,,,.
