pipedog, you built yourself a helluva boat right there. Always glad to see success when it comes to a new build.

Almost 80,000 views on this thread. I'm sure this thread has helped others with their builds too, so thanks for that.

And I am in to that "social distancing airboat style" stuff too...even when there ain't no damn chinese virus bugs blowing around town :) .

Lurked this forum off and on for years. Found this thread today and spent all my free time reading thru it and watching all the vids. Had to register an account just to thank you for all the info and inspiration. Hoping to get into my first airboat soon, I really want to raise my 3 kids to love and respect the heritage. :florida:

Incredible boat you built.

Godspeed :salute:

It's nothing money can't fix. I'm sure it won't take as long to get it going as it did to build it.

Did you figure out what happened? Was it the engine or gearbox and how did you get them separated?

Hey Greg, As of right now it looks a lot better than at first. At first I thought it was seized with some bottom end problem, because the way it shut down and I couldn't turn the prop ether way. Found out it broke a spring and dropped a valve and jammed the piston and I tried turning it over and the starter jammed. So once I took the starter off I could rotate the motor until the piston hit the busted valve. So I got to pull the heads and get them fixed and up graded and hopefully the piston and cylinder wall is in good shape!!

If they are the Comp 918 springs do a search they have had issues in the past.

Check out PSI Valve Springs

They make the spring not a reseller

I have tried to do a little research and find companies the building there own products.

There are only a few that actually make the product any more. Like Manton pushrods

If you need a crank and rods I would look at Molanar, they don't make the product but finish them to a high standard compared to most

just my 2 cents
