    Timing my mags

Go to the Airboat Directory on this board. Southern Airboat Directory Gary Barber and Jurnigan Engines are two options reasonably nearby.

    Timing my mags

They don't diesel for long if you cut the fuel or choke them out, what carb (or??) are you running? Do you know how much advance your mags are set at now? What is your start sequence, and do you know if your start mag is snapping? Where are you at?

Run 600hp AirBoat to hell on ice

I dig the concept, but I'm not sold, look, we ain't got no ice here but in our glasses. Starters> your rudder system is BS. Four rudders at the outside of the prop??? If I haftadoit we are mounting that crap on the prop inlet where it can make a difference (drives like a bobcat). Props suck...

    Remembering Dusty Brewster

Reading Dusty stories is a big reason I joined SA. Yep, I learned from Dusty, I learned how to exaggerate:censored: If it's a good story, who cares?

    Question on running dry

Try feeding each a 2" myrtle branch or dead chicken and then see which runs better? The NGQ eats more than the JW for sure LOL. 😬

Run 600hp AirBoat to hell on ice

It bounces like a basketball on water, not so surprising. We talk about adjusting the hull of our fiberglass and aluminum hulls, but an inflatable hull is infinitely adjustable with a pressure gauge and air pump. On water it looks like taking some air out might soften things up, it will be...

I'm gonna back up the 1,700 lbs all in, it matches my aircraft aluminum rigs. 440 lbs of hull?? Not much to get rid of. I'm Building 2 Stossel Boats with High Torque Motors

Run 600hp AirBoat to hell on ice

GREAT Video! I assume the car is front wheel drive with studs on front and summer tires on the rear. Certainly nice Carbon Fiber work, I would have it so bashed up in no time. Can you post more details on the UHMW or other plastic system used on the bottom. It's something like overlapped...

Deck overs are the most responsive and hardest to sink but the most difficult to maintain. Open hulls are easier to maintain, flex and can sink in a heartbeat unless foamed out, the higher the sides the better. Given the Wife & Kid as riders I suggest a high side open with a worn-out engine...

In Russia its "The Crazy Ivan". Post some video of the chicken out, anything recent on ICE is bull crap unless your compass just spins (like at the N. Pole). Personally, I'm gonna make my speed on that brown grass with ice crystals in the background. Saw grass is slick as snot going one...

Glenn, Welcome to the forum and (Potentially) to the addiction! I'm in Jupiter on the opposite side, it is well over an hour for me to anywhere airboats are legal, similar to you. Peace River is your closest and you should get plenty of input on that. For me the WEST side of Lake O is the...

    Question on running dry

Don't know about the hull, but the poly job is junk for sure. The first giveaway is bolted poly on a riveted hull. Rivet the poly on too, every 5-6 inches in the middle and every 2-2-1/4" along the seams. Strip the poly off, cover all the holes with 100 mph Flextape and take her for a spin.

    Question on running dry

The poly job appears to be your primary issue. It looks like it was put on in the winter, maybe inside an air-conditioned building?? Poly expands something like 10X more than Aluminum for every degree rise in temp. When you put it on in the baking sun it is as large as it is going to get...

    Question on running dry

Are those C Channel Runners? One more picture in closer showing the bottom runners and bulkheads please. Some pictures or more explanation of the bottom damage would help. Is the hull bowed up lengthwise between the runners so the poly is wearing like a Santa Sleigh or something else? Is...
