    500 Caddy milky oil?

First question is how milky and have you flushed it and changed the oil ? There can be 5-10 actual issues that cause it but if the boat has been sitting it can be as simple as a cold runner and humidity. Flush it with a little diesel and start fresh

    Under geared/propped?

If your running an LS engine that produces 627hp @ 6,300 rpm and running a ratio of 2.3 to 1 and only getting 5,200 on the trailer your leaving a lot of power out of the mix. You need gear and rpm to get up in your peak power. You have meat on the bone but ride quality will suffer. That boat...

    2.68 VS 2.55 testing

Dave, I must be a believer, because I would have expected that result. Now that said as long as the engine was designed to run in that RPM range (capable of power at rpm). ie cam, heads etc. The hypothesis is proven to be factual. I think there is another consideration in this formula for...

    Cost to fix

Laughing My small block Chevy 14ft turning a 3 blade Sensenich JR rarely spins over 3,000 rpm with a 2.55 drive If I’m light on fuel in shallow water with a cooler and Pitbull it will move you along real well at 2,400-2,600 rpm If you have a big loaded up 16ft barge with 3 friends, full...

1970’s Tomcat Hurricane Aircraft powered help

We call that old boat the “Glass Slipper” as it looks like a woman’s shoe in the water ! There was one around here a few years back that had been restored. I think “Smuggler” may have had one similar too at some point years ago.

Diamonback - ZZ4 SBC coolant routing questions

Photos would help. Almost sounds like an auto pump with a nipple for a heater hose. All of mine have large inlet from radiator and large outlet back to radiator. Any water pump outlets are plugged. A overflow or expansion line either runs from small nipple under cap to a tank or from cap...

How do I remove oxidation from carbon fiber prop blades?

The other option is send them back for inspection, balance and refinish. If it were a Sensenich prop the cost would run $75-100 a blade and they affix new decals and dura skin.

Cousin went last week. A lot of bait in the creeks he caught a few slot fish but it was not a trip to brag about.

    Prop setup

I don’t think either way that it’s that big of a deal because both engines are being easily restrained by their current pitch settings.

    Boat lean

Maybe one bottom is more round than the other ? Round bottoms run dry better but roll more. Only other thing I had seen a guy do with a similar issue on a net boat was add flotation pods. That would be something to consult with DB on possibly.

    Boat lean

In reading your post it implies this condition has worsened. Torque roll is generally related to the application of power. Wider blades by design grab more air which tends to intensify the effect. In a boat that has a prop turning to a right hand rotation the boat builder would generally...

Oldest airboat manufacturer currently in production?

Ray is still riding over my way ! Sadly his wife passed a few years back but he and his son are close. No longer flying the plane but still flying his boat. The man is a legend from racing to rescues not to mention the ladies love him. Some of his stories from back in the 50s and 60s are...

    First Airboat

Determine what you are looking for in a boat and your budget. Then decide is your going to build one or purchase a used boat. Most airboats are not able to be financed so having the $ in hand is needed. Generally speaking some credit unions or banks do finance airboats but in my experience...

    Limbach 2000

Not sure your budget but I took the time to look into Linbach and they offer up a engine that puts out 160hp. Quite a interesting product. That would get it done !
