9/11/01 Where were you?

Got all my guys in the waiting room at my shop and watched it all unfold. We were glued to the news for over two hours, then moment of silence filled with outspoken prayers.....
 
I was at work in the shop yard fixing a hydraulic leak when a co worker called and then i watch the darkest day in our history unfold on live tv.

was drilling a waterwell right north of dfw airport large commercial hub, was watching planes coming overhead and started noticing they were circling and going back to airport like as if they had forgot the coffe, after awhile the neighbor came over and told me what was going on. I finished out the day while listning to the radio and went home turned on tv and watched junior reading my pet goat to a bunch of kids in florida classroom, those images burnt into my mind and have never left, i bet he would give the world to take back those 9 minutes after the first attack.
 
Most people don't know this, because they only talk from the back seat. Everything that could be done was being done. It didn't matter if he got up or stayed. That’s what separates us from everyone else, we plan, and yes we plan for acts such as these. I know it’s hard for some people to believe, but we do that’s why we are the BEST country in the world and if you do not like it, plenty of room in Mexico. Whether you like the man or not it showed compositor.
 
Morning driving north on New Jersey Turnpike. Afternoon walking in the rubble, fire and smoke and death around the World Trade Center
helping the living.

I salute the many firemen, police, EMS workers and citizens who stayed behind to help others, knowing well that they faced death.

SS I salute you. In times such as these you really get to see what people are made off. The story that just got posted about the retired firefighter who went to ground zero and starting working and ended up getting his picture with the president is what makes this country what it is. I know a lot of retired soldiers that returned to active duty to do their part after 9/11, and that is another testament of this great nation. They have to be right once to make an event or attack, where as we have to be vigilant every day to prevent them. GOD BLESS the men and women of AMERICA, we as a nation regardless of political views make this the best country in the world PERIOD. Yes we do need to fix something’s to get on track, but after traveling the world there is no better place on earth to live then in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA PERIOD.
 
Thinking about how many friends and brothers I was losing as the towers fell. Worked and trained with many of FDNY.
We buried another brother in January due to respiratory complications-9 yrs later. Billy Quick- I miss you man.
