Alternator regulator?

I need a new alt. for my 220. A one wire alt. is all i need correct? No regulator?

When i go to discount or autozone Ill need a year and make/model for the alternator, anyone have that info. Ive heard its a GM?
 
Just ask for the standard 1 wire chevy alt, they should know what it is!

they come in different amps
 
It all depends on what you have on the boat, how much power do you consume, 60 to 75 will get you by, 100 is good, 140 to 200 if you have the kitchen sink. The higher amps seem to cost more. Spot light /head light draw alot of power.
I would think anything over 75 and over should do a normal boat well.
 
well i have a pretty powerful head lamp and handheld...plus I plan on adding a few other things. is there anything between 100 and 140 amp?

When do the one wires start to charge...i think its above 1000 RPMS? No regulator needed? Never had one on the boat before.
 
My good man, I am just a a common guy that was able to find one and stick it on my motor.
I am not a wrench turner by trade. You should be able to get one at a junk yard for 30 bucks or buy one from 75 to 125 bucks. The 75 to 100 amp will do.
