It's been a while since I've seen a build thread on here so I thought I'd share. My dad (BamaR) and I are going to try our hands at building a boat and I wanted to share the progress with you guys/gals. Feedback and opinions are welcome and appreciated. We're literally starting from the ground up. I'll start with with a few pics of the trailer and post pics as often as possible. The trailer is being built from 2x4 & 3x4 x 1/8" steel tubing.
Hull: 15x8 Alumitech AGI 3/8" bolted poly
Motor: 468 BBC
Prop: Sensenich 80" 4 blade R
Gear Box: 2.37:1 Ox Drive
Rigging: Polished SS Round Side by side rear driver with front bench
Seats: Buttrax

Thanks guys. Maybe it will be bonding time and not kill each other time. LOL. Spent a few minutes today getting the hub all shined up to match the blades and the gear box.
We'll finish up the jig for the motor stand tonight and get that started.

Another quick update. Not much progress but got the engine stand jig put together. Going to pick up trailer parts and motor this weekend. Should move on along much faster after next week. Got word today that the hull is going on the jig tomorrow :-).View attachment 1

I'll be watching. Interested in seeing how this goes, I have found that a iron block BBC is heavier then i like on a 15' boat, i have 15x8 alumitech also, with high sides, hope yours is built with good high sides. Bud

We picked up the motor and all the trailer parts this weekend. Hope to have the hull by next week. It should start coming on together pretty quick now.

We made a little more progress. Got the axles mounted and a few other small things done. Hopefully engine mounts will be here in a day or so and we can start on the motor stand. View attachment 1View attachment 2

Sorry it's been a while without an update. Our project changed direction a little. Ranger1424 decided he wanted a new boat to go along with his new place in FL. So we'll be swapping his motor/box/prop over to our build. Our build will resume afterwards. We picked up the hull from the guys at Alumitech on Tuesday. Those guys build a damn nice boat! We're in the process now of tearing his down. View attachment 1View attachment 2

Kenny the build is looking great!! :thumbleft:

I have a question - are you limiting the access space underneath the seats for coolers and such with your curved cross-bracing and orientation? (it may be an illusion from the photos)
:rebel:

Thanks. The curved bars don't really block the access to under the rigging any more than the walk boards do. Those 10" walk boards keep you from putting anything very big under the rigging.
