IF they do, FWC shld be lead agency in dealing with recreational issues.

Here's what I sent:
It is my considered opinion, after having lived in this state and
Central Florida in particular that this proposed headwaters project should be
taken off the table. I do not support the Headwaters project.

At a time when Americans are out of work and each dollar is precious, no trust
fund or other source of money should be tapped to fund even a portion of this program.
It is not necessary and will not only ruin the economy of the small towns along the trail
of this vast project, it is not sending the correct message to conservationists.

I prefer OPTION ONE -- NO REFUGE! For the reasons stated above and because I
know that conservationists are caring for this area on our own. we no not need the
"help" of the federal government.

Your own information shows many of the areas "of concern" to USFWS already are refuges.
so leave them alone and allow us to recreate and protect those areas still open to us.

If the USFWS continues to pursue this ill-conceived notion, then the FFWCC is the only agency
who should be the lead/managing agency for recreational use of any kind.

I have worked with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for over twelve years.
I am an avid sportsman.
It is imperative that FWC be the lead agency on any portion of this project that goes forward.
It is only fitting that the agency with day to day contact with all sportsmen's groups be the
lead. Your only chance at getting any buy in would be using FWC as lead.
I do not believe the Obama administration needs another contentious issue to face in Florida.
 (That may not be politically correct, but it's true -- and i want them to be on notice --

PLEASE, take us seriously, we are you eyes and ears of the waterways and the forests.
We know this is not necessary. STOP this refuge project. NOW!

Bonnie, we know that Gov. Scott is a sportsman (life NRA member). How should we go about enlisting his considerable influence in this matter? Thanks for your help ......

The way the system works, that request should get transferred to FWC for their assistance in making a response.

THis issue has been wrapped in the blanket of "save the Everglades" so most folks' first reaction is YES! and they don't
look deeply into what that means...not saying that's true with the Gov. but we need to make sure everyone knows the
feds want to purchase pieces of property which will connect a large number of refuges together....they have enough
already....

They also are trying to get ranchers, farmers to give them easements which DO NOT NECESSARILY come with hunting/recreation
rights for the general public! That is why we want FWC as the lead if they go ahead

You also can go to http://www.myflorida.com, click on Governor and follow their directions to contact him that way.
ALSO Contact the Lt. Governor and John Costellano, the lobbyist.

Finally,
Contact Marco Rubio, Bill Nelson -- senators
and your congressman.
