engine stand question

i have a 12ft cotton mouth hull im putting a sbc on it i bought a engine stand and i havent put the engine on the stand in the boat yet so i know im not 100% with measurements but my question is, how far or should the prop at all sit below the transom? my rough measurements show that the prop will sit about 4in below dose this sound about right?

Centerline of crankshaft 48" to 52" from bottom of boat works well, if using gearbox or belt drive measurement is taken at center of prop flange to bottom of boat

set it up as deep as ya can with 2 inches off bottom is best setup the taller the motor the easier to roll it over.
you still have time to make it a real airboat get a aircraft motor before you are at a point of no return...... LOL.

:x i'v seen them way down in the hull but keep in mind that the push come off the middel of the prop from tip to hub. if u r running strate drive move motor stand foward 10 inchs from back of hull rides good and can still run the hill if set up right.
