gear box question

I currently have a Stinger gear box 2.38 ratio that is 20 years old, bolted to a 20 year old WaterThunder LS1. I have frequently changed the gear lube and have always used AMS. At what point should I consider a rebuild, or replacement of the gear box??

Any slack in it ? 20 years is pretty good run

You getting any metal on the magnetic plug when you change fluid? You hearing any strange noises?

no slack, no metal shavings or pieces, no strange noises.

Keep doing what you’re doing!

If your plate has the two color rubber soft drive bushings keep an eye on them and replace if necessary.
