Installed my first 2.68 belt drive today!

I liked a few things that they changed with this drive! I have seen many belt drive flywheels crack they now have a floating splined input shaft which I like. This will prevent someone from putting the crank into a bind if there is not enough end play. About half of the belt drives I install I have to change the clearance on an LS application! It also has a wider belt and a more robust cog size. I liked all the new improvements! Here are a few pic’s!

Here is a pic of the splined floating input shaft!

Dave, boy has that been a long time coming ! How about letting us see the other side of the input and flywheel.

Is that a CH3 or the new big one for the 2.6 stuff? I've never seen one of those yet.

Cool POOBought I guess you all made it home did ya run into any rain!! Yes this is the new HD 2.68 I like it accept for the prop turning the same way as the motor. But with a bigger or heavier boat it doesn't really matter as much!

I like the design, but I had heck of a time getting the upper drive pulley on the belt. We ended up just taking the flexplate loose again and taking the bolts out of the bearing and sliding the lower pulley up. It seemed to be a little harder than the standard ch 3. I took some pics of the ch3 side by side to ch4 but gotta find my camera again! It does have alot beefier main housing and belt than the ch3. The rear bolts are about a 1/8-1/4 farther back in the boat than the ch3.

Dave, We went threw a few rain storms but nothing bad. We ran into some guys at the gas station drewling over the engine. They were into drag racing. I told him you could hook him up.

When we droped the engine off at Stump Jumpers we tried talking Chad into installing that top hub in the Belt drive. We were unsucsesfull. I guess were stuck doing it. :(

Make sure you install the bushing on the crank. Ours didnt come with one and we run it without and it will mess the splines on the shaft and flexplate.
