Well it is official my buddy Nevin Jenkins (the twin turbo DB) has asked me to post up his new Diamondback Deckover project he has started, he sold the old boat and will have this Nelson engine with even bigger turbos,

Watch the video and check out the numbers on the dyno near the end. Going to bad a$$. So for all the nay sayers who said cannot pull 2000 hsp you are right he will have 2200 :D :D Not sure how Bobby going to build a engine stand etc to hook up all that power but he figure it out.

NRE is my favorite engine company. Absolutely love everything about their work. Can't wait to see it!!!

Just looked at their website for the first time, even the little 355 sbc makes real impressive numbers, and they call it a daily driver motor. WOW. Bud
 
what I would like to know is who does the gear reduction hold up to that much HP? I rode with him at Hernando and his boat was nice and the fastest ride boat I've seen so I can't wait to see this new one
 
Yep thats my question too. I know he was running counter rotator props. With a belt drive. And he has trouble keeping belts. Whats it going to do now with more horse power?
 
Wow, I would just like to know WHY?? I mean I see the bragging rights, but other than that seems like it would be more of a hassle than anything else.
 
:) you ask why? I say why the hell not, if you have got the money to do it....give er hell and do it! And it hasnt been done before so thats an even better reason. There is no substitute for power.
 
If it proves out reliable, I can see it replacing 3 or 4 engines on the big work boats doing Seismic and power line poles etc.. Increase the boats pay load by at least a half a ton and have the same or more power.
 
That what I'm saying can it be reliable motor?? H3LL it no fun if you have to stop and cool your motor down every five minutes.
 
time will tell Nelson been building big motors for a long time, built one for a customer of mine it was bad it was in the 90's so they are still around :D :D :D I like the intake with fuel rails inside clean for sure. :D
 
Nelson builds very reliable motors. IMO He is one of the best if not the best when it comes to the turbo game. If he can keep belts on the box then she should be very reliable. Go check out NRE's youtube channel and you'll get a taste of how reliable their motors are.
 
Your buddy is a hoot, cant wait to see how ridiculous the new boat is lol. I remember he was letting some girls drive his boat at the calendar shoot, remember thinking that guy is crazy theyre all going to die LOL!
 
the nice thing about the turbos is the motor isnt under alot of load until you really start making boost so it wont run hot atleast shouldnt have to worry about temp until you start to make boost unlike a comp motor sounds badazz if i could afford it id be jn line with him
 
Watch the dyno run at the end of the videp, the HSP jumos up over I think it was 4000, that is why I like my supercharger it builds all the torque at low rpm. But this thing got sick torque also like 1750 and up from 4000 rpm :shock: :shock:
 
I think this is the boat I saw at the Broward Airboat show. It had a NRE mirror image turbo setup and a Century Counter rotator with what looked like triple timing chains instead of a belt. The thing looked SICK!!!!
