New to the game

I recently purchased my first airboat a couple months ago. It's a 220 GPU with a 470 conversion. For some reason though the previous owner removed the stock oil sump and replaced it with some home made looking contraption of a flat plate with 2 hoses coming off of it and going to an external, stand alone oil tank. The guy I bought it from said it never gave him any problems. With that being said, I've had it out a couple times, and was satisfied with the way it ran until my last outing. We ran all day on Kissimmee, and on our way back to the boat landing it starting spewing all the oil out of the blow by hose. 8 quarts from dead river to the ridge. So I took it to a local shop to have a cylinder leak down test. While it was there, I asked the mechanic if he could replace the oil sump and accessory housing back to stock parts because I still wasn't comfortable with that set up. He agreed. After removing my accessory housing (which had been modified to work with the set up that was on the boat) he found a substantial amount of metal shavings in the motor. I told him I was not in the financial position right now to do a major overhaul and he basically told me to come get my boat. When I arrived at his shop, my motor is still disassembled in a box. I would like to put it back together somewhat to protect it from weather and to reduce the risk of losing parts, but I am completely lost as to where these parts go. Is there a manual online that I could research? Would I need a manual for a 220 or a 470? Any and all info is greatly appreciated.
