Remote Picture Uploads

Just wondering if you can now and I'm to dam dumb to upload pictures to the gallery from a blackberry type camera. Without taking out the card or attaching it to a PC. If not' is that something you would look into or do in the future? I know you can do it to Facebook. I know I can email them to myself. I just haven't figured how to go from email to gallery or even if I can.

Just a thought.

If you email a pic to yourself, then you have to save the picture on the Blackberry. then upload it like any other file to S.A..

I know nothing about Black, Blue, or Cran Berrys but thats the steps, not the keystrokes, to get it done.

The forum doesn't care what computer you use as long as the format is in a supported file extension. (.jpg) & etc..

Now failing that, you can email them to someone and have them post them while you are away from your computer. You would have to give someone your password if you want them in YOUR account, but anyone could put them in their personal gallery until it can be sorted out later.

Rick may have a better answer for ya.

This straw, blue, rasp, blackberry is just another friging leash that I have to use for my business. So I was just trying to have a little fun with it. I know that I can be anywhere with it, take a picture and if I have signal I can upload it direct to Facebook no other steps needed. Take picture, hit button, it asks send to Facebook, hit yes and it's done.They are posted automatically. I hope someone else can help me explain this.

I'm going to ease this over into "Site Related" and maybe someone else has the same leash you do and can offer some wisdom on it.

If ya ever need it, email them to me and I'll get them up for ya, we can swap them later to keep them in the right account.

Kim, I'm not fully up to speed with those smart phones myself, but my wife has one. From watching her work with hers, it seems the phone has a "facebook app" on it. And that is what's asking you to upload it. So by that logic, you'd need to get a 'southern airboat app' (I'm sure one is not available).

Now, maybe, if you can log on to s/a from your phone, you can go to the gallery, find the upload link, click it, and follow the standard steps which as Scotty was talking about: you find the location of the image file (jpg) usually with some sort of "browse" button. Then choose the photo and tell it OK which starts the upload.

Those smart phones are getting more an more popular. Laura loves hers - she reads probably 80% of her email on it, and 50% of her facebook is from her phone. We sit in a restaurant, have a debate about if a plane could take off on a conveyor belt, and she'll go online and find the answers. LOL It's great. I want one too!

But I'm pretty sure you're gonna need a "s/a app" for the phone to do any direct uploads. It's up to Rick to decide if that's even possible. Pretty cool if it is though! :D

the facebook style apps are cool you can snap a pic and boom it is on facebook on your home page that is the main diffferance as I see it. Face book is your home page and your buddys that you authorize are the only ones that can see it. SA we are all family so everyone see it all (members) I bet rick would need a huge server if we all could upload at will from our crackberry lol, I go to SA on mine two different animals the way the site is run. App would be cool but need more site supporters or poor Rick would go broke JMO
 
You "could" then upload it to FB then copy the file to the Blackberry and manually U/L it to SA.

I bet if we got any pre-teen or teenager coders here, one of them can make the FB code work with S.A.. I seriously doubt any professional coders could, but the kids can. LOL

Someone could go to a Blackberry forum and ask if there is a direct u/l application for our "type" of forum. We are running PHP BB3. Not all forums run the same either but most have a common core I think. Our Code is PHP and open source, so anyone can interface to it.
 
Ok while searching on this topic, I find that several Smart Phones have an app for uploading to PHPBB forums. The Iphone and the Nokia and Android markets. The Blackberry version is in development.

Guess that means they haven't got there yet.
