Rotator gearbox?

I'm looking to buy a rotator gearbox off a guy it came off a sbc 350 and I'm building a Ls 5.3 is there anything different that won't let it work or is there anything special I need before I put it on my motor or will it not work at all thanks for the responses :florida:

A friend of mine swapped from a stinger to an ox box. The stinger used to be hooked up to a sb 400. He built a new boat and carried the stinger along with it. He swapped to the ox on the new boat. The new boat had an l/s on it.

My rotator has both bolt patterns, but I think the drive plate will be different. The one that actually mounts to the crankshaft.

I believe he meant the flex plate (that bolts to the crank), as that is what is engine specific.
Presumably, he kept his flex plate on or with his 350, so you would need a flex plate for your 5.3.

As far as the drive plate on the box goes . . . . *Edit*

In view of the fact that I may have given you bad information,
I will offer my apologies and exit this thread.

There is no reason in the world to doubt any of Smuggler's advice or suggestions; in fact, if he'd
got up this morning before I did, I wouldn't have looked like a dumbass 'till later in the day.

If you do want to call and get a confirmation from Panther, their phone number is (321)632-1722.

Im pretty sure the drive plate from old style sbc to ls is different on the rotator dont speculate with all the i thinks and maybes on here call panther and findout for sure

The Gen III/IV has a different crank offset vs the Gen I SBC. The difference is .400. The easiest way to make up the difference is to purchase this adapter http://www.jegs.com/i/Chevrolet-Performance/809/12563532/10002/-1?parentProductId=835483

the ox box is built off the stinger.
