Run 600hp AirBoat to hell on ice

GREAT Video! I assume the car is front wheel drive with studs on front and summer tires on the rear. Certainly nice Carbon Fiber work, I would have it so bashed up in no time.

Can you post more details on the UHMW or other plastic system used on the bottom. It's something like overlapped fish scales, same theory as a stepped hull on steroids?

1700# is not a hull - its total weight of the boat with engines etc. in Russian ist 790 kg. I think not a big weight as our water motor yachts of 27 feet can be about 7000 lb with engines. and can make 59 mph. so tell me in simple english like to indian man LOL what you mean LOL

I'm gonna back up the 1,700 lbs all in, it matches my aircraft aluminum rigs. 440 lbs of hull?? Not much to get rid of.

'The bottom is made of scales made of low-density polyethylene (that's what we call it here), strips of a certain width with a slight overlap on each other are arranged in such a way as to protect the main, inflatable body made of polyvinyl chloride while having sufficient flexibility to overcome uneven and rocky surfaces'. - thats what I got from the office. if you need more details, ask
 
Well, I've seen guys try building tunnel hulls, various types of step hulls, this hull may take some reworking to get it to behave on water and ice, weight isn't really the issue with water performance.

also it will be more easy to make changes in the hull than to find very fat pilot in Russia. we dont have much fat guys here LOL really this boat was not done for records. It was first experience to make just nice looking airboat. and we have another 2 hulls on stock. there is a plan to make another 2 boats and organize a race here

It bounces like a basketball on water, not so surprising. We talk about adjusting the hull of our fiberglass and aluminum hulls, but an inflatable hull is infinitely adjustable with a pressure gauge and air pump. On water it looks like taking some air out might soften things up, it will be like flying a marshmallow (your pilot will hate it). I might be inclined to increase the pressure on the center tubes and decrease pressure on the outer RIB tubes. Depending on the results I might do the opposite??? Maybe I fill the outer RIB with foam to make it way more rigid? Who knows? :unsure:

Being you have other hulls to manipulate, might I suggest a tubular carbon "spine" up the center of hull "dead flat" from transom to the rake, from that a set of stringers running parallel forward from transom to say midship at the spread of the main structure holding the powerplant, tie that in, the bottom would be rigid but only up center, and at whatever the spread is to midship the rest can flex.

Starters> your rudder system is BS. Four rudders at the outside of the prop??? If I haftadoit we are mounting that crap on the prop inlet where it can make a difference (drives like a bobcat).

Props suck air from everywhere and compress it into the center, how else would it make thrust? Think about it, what happened to that air?

Y'all's rudders are in the most useless place to control the boat with the engine. Perhaps they come into their own at 100 mph???

Didn't pay much attention to rudder spread, was paying more attention to the hull running or erratic running, good call!

Coooool!!! thanks! will discuss it with guys. Now we are a bit stressed by shit economy, so it will be a problem to invest anything in the changes, but I hope Santa together with Putin and Trump will bring us peace presents and we get more chances soon LOL

We hear that loud and clear and $6.35 for diesel hurts. I honestly thought this was another G I Joe movie prop barely functional thing, and carbon & 100 mph is easy to fake for 30 seconds of movie magic!
What's that movie "Chain Reaction" on ice and ice bumps at maybe 35 mph of airboat? Zero clue of airboats on ice here, maybe Northern airboat has better info?
